There goes Peter Cottontail

Well, with the recent announcement that we need to practice social distancing through the month of April, it looks like Easter will be hippity hoppitying right past us this year.

So . . . I thought I’d cheer myself up by setting the table for an Easter tea; imagining myself enjoying homemade quiche and scones with friends. Doesn’t that sound good right now?

I used vintage china that I collected from Etsy and a table runner that I picked up at Target. While I’ll miss the yearly visit from the Easter Bunny, the fun pops of color on the table are definitely brightening my day today. (P.S. The milk chocolate bunny in the Easter basket may or may not be missing his ears since these photos were taken.)

What’s on your agenda? I hope your day is a good one!

I see a pattern . . .

I enjoy experimenting with different table settings. And while I’m all for the convenience of casual dinnerware, delicate vintage china is just too beautiful to leave in the china cabinet! Tonquin Plum by Royal Staffordshire is one of my favorites because the serene grand manor scene and stunning floral border make it the perfect choice for spring.

Silver bow napkin rings and placecard holders in the shape of elegant dining chairs are the perfect accompaniment to this pretty china!

Vintage patterns are readily available on Etsy or Replacements.com.

Cream of the crop.

Do you fall in love with things? I do.

Some things just make me smile when I see them. Like my grinning ceramic jack-o’-lantern, my chubby copper bird ornament, and my first real piece of art; a pretty floral in shades of purple.

Other things remind me of someone I love, like the delicate chintz creamer that my Grandma gave me. I told her I thought it was pretty, and she immediately took it out of her china cabinet and gifted it to me. I was careful not to mention liking something of hers after that, but the creamer will always be special to me because she wanted me to be the one to cherish it next.

While I may rearrange and reorganize, there are certain things I will never tire of seeing, touching, and using because these are the things that make home, home.

I often wonder who will treasure my things after I’m gone. Will they love them as much as I do?

Current Moo’d

Why did I just “have to have” this little cow creamer? I don’t know! I just LIKE it. Even though I don’t own a lot of farmhouse decor, I love incorporating different styles to make my home unique.

I’ve actually seen a few different versions of this creamer on Etsy, mostly from outside the U.S., and too expensive to buy and have shipped. But I finally ran across this one, and although it has a few flaws, the price was right.

If you’re patient, you can usually find what you’re looking for without breaking the bank. I paid $8 with free shipping and I’m good with that!

Moo.
